Slain militant laid to rest after multiple funerals | KNO

Bandipora, August 03 (KNO) : Amid pro-freedom sloganeering, hundreds of people on Saturday participated in the last rites of Bandipora militant killed in an encounter at Malpora area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district. Sources told KNO that, hundreds of people reached the residence of slain militant and marched while carrying their body to offer his funeral prayers. Three rounds of funeral prayers were offered for Umar as hundreds from Bandipora and its adjoining areas participated in the funeral procession of slain militant, sources said. Umar's relatives, who were waiting for his body to arrive, were holding a pot full of candies in their hands. The women were seen wailing while sister and mother of the teenage militant were inconsolable. Umar was affiliated with Jaish-e-Muhammad outfit. Umar joined militant ranks on 02 June 2019 and was active in Sopore town.(KNO)
